On Sunday, May 18th, Sugar Water will celebrate a major milestone—our one-year anniversary in the heart of Princess Anne. To mark the occasion, we’re inviting our beloved community to join us for a joyful evening of food, fun, and gratitude at a very special Community Dinner that feels more like a birthday bash than your typical dinner service.
From the moment we opened our doors, Sugar Water set out to be more than just a restaurant—we aimed to be a gathering place. A space where locals and travelers alike could enjoy exceptional food crafted with care, drawn from the farms, waters, and hearts of the Eastern Shore. Over the past twelve months, we’ve built not only a menu but also relationships with our neighbors, partners, and guests. This dinner is our way of saying thank you.
The May 18th Community Dinner will be a true celebration of the journey we’ve taken together, featuring an all-star lineup of our most-loved dishes from the past year and many of our family favorites.

What is a Community Dinner:
A community dinner is more than just a meal—it’s an opportunity to gather, connect, and share an experience with neighbors, friends, and new acquaintances. It’s about coming together around the table to enjoy great food, meaningful conversation, and a sense of belonging.
Dana and David Zucker, owners of Sugar Water, began hosting Community Dinners at their home inspired by the documentary on Netflix, Live to 100: Secrets of the Blue Zones. The small group quickly grew and strangers became freinds and new relationships were built. Dana and David knew when they opened the restaurant this would become a monthly event inviting community in to share their heritage, love of food, talents and more.

A Party Like No Other:
The restaurant will be decked out in party style—think festive décor, great music, and a few sweet surprises along the way. We’re calling it our birthday party, and what’s a birthday without cake? You can be sure there will be a sweet ending to the night, along with a celebratory toast to mark the occasion.

This dinner, like all our community dinners, is about more than just the food. It’s about gathering around the table, sharing stories, and remembering the many moments we’ve experienced together—from our first brunch service to sold-out events and cozy winter nights. We’ve watched friendships form, date nights unfold, and locals introduce out-of-town guests to their new favorite place to eat.
We’re proud to have created a space where creativity and community intersect, where locally sourced ingredients meet elevated comfort food, and where every guest feels like part of the Sugar Water family. Our one-year anniversary celebration is both a reflection of what we’ve accomplished and a toast to the exciting things ahead.
