There’s something special about the Fourth of July on the Eastern Shore. It’s the kind of day made for slow mornings, time with family, a good meal, and a little celebrating in between. At Sugar Water in The Washington Hotel, we’re making it easy to enjoy all of it.
This Saturday, July 4th, we’ll be open from 10 AM to 7 PM with a holiday menu built around the flavors of summer, backyard cookout favorites, fresh local seafood, and a few brunch staples to start the day right. Whether you’re joining us after the parade, meeting friends for lunch, or settling in for dinner before the fireworks, we’d love to celebrate with you.
At Sugar Water, our menu always starts with what’s close to home. We’re proud to serve food that reflects the farms, waters, and people that make this part of Maryland so special. It’s fresh, local, farm-and-water-to-table food that’s delicious, good for the soul, and tells a story.
A Holiday Menu Built for Summer

Our Fourth of July menu brings together the kind of dishes that feel right at home on a summer holiday: bright seasonal starters, burgers and barbecue favorites, local crab, and classic sides that belong on every picnic table.
To start, we’re serving a Peach & Tomato Burrata with juicy local peaches from Sissy Vessey, vine-ripened heirloom tomatoes, handmade burrata, local greens, and balsamic reduction. We’ll also have Oysters on the Half Shell served chilled with traditional accompaniments, plus Loaded BBQ Nachos stacked with pulled pork, sharp cheddar, BBQ sauce, and all the smoky backyard flavor you could ask for.
For the main event, the menu leans into both summer comfort food and Eastern Shore favorites. Guests can dig into our All-American Smash Burger with American cheese, lettuce, tomato, pickles, and house sauce on a toasted brioche bun, or go a little bigger with the Cowboy Burger, topped with cheddar, crispy bacon, onion straws, and smoky BBQ sauce.
If your ideal Fourth of July meal looks more like a backyard cookout, we’ll also be serving ½ BBQ Chicken with baked beans and corn on the cob, a Backyard BBQ Plate with a pulled pork sandwich, mac and cheese, baked beans, and tomato cucumber salad, and a Nathan’s Foot Long Hot Dog served with baked beans and tomato cucumber salad.
Seafood lovers will find plenty to celebrate too. Our Soft Shell Crab Sandwich is served with corn relish, tomato and cucumber salad, and house-made fries, and our Crab Cake Platter features a house-made crab cake made with local crab, served with sautéed squash and mac and cheese.
For guests looking for a meatless option, our Grilled Portobello Sandwich layers marinated portobello mushroom, grilled zucchini, roasted red peppers, arugula, and dill vinaigrette on a toasted brioche bun, with sautéed squash and mac and cheese on the side.
And because no Fourth of July plate is complete without the extras, we’ll also have holiday sides available including Mac & Cheese with Crispy Crumb Topping, Tomato & Cucumber Salad, Baked Beans, Sautéed Squash, and Corn on the Cob.
Brunch Until 2 PM
If you’re kicking off the holiday a little earlier, our brunch menu will be available until 2 PM.
That means you can start your Fourth with favorites like Stuffed French Toast, Pulled Pork Paco, The Basic, and Biscuits and Gravy before diving into the rest of the holiday menu.
Don’t Skip Dessert
Dessert will be simple, fresh, and worth saving room for. Bob the Baker is handling the sweet side of the holiday, with rotating dessert selections available throughout the day. Just ask your server what Bob baked.
Spend the Holiday With Us
The best part of the Fourth of July isn’t really the cooking anyway. It’s gathering around the table, taking your time, and enjoying the people you’re with.
So if you’d rather skip the grocery store, avoid the grill, and leave the cleanup to someone else this year, come spend part of your holiday with us. We’ll have brunch in the morning, burgers and barbecue in the afternoon, local seafood all day, and a dining room ready for families, friends, and anyone looking for a relaxed way to celebrate.
We’ll be open Saturday, July 4th from 10 AM to 7 PM at Sugar Water in The Washington Hotel in Princess Anne. Reservations are encouraged, but walk-ins are always welcome as space allows.

We can’t wait to celebrate with you.
