Join us at Sugar Water in The Washington Hotel for Mahjong Madness, a weekly afternoon gathering centered around the timeless game of Mahjong. Whether you’re looking to learn something new or meet others who love to play, this experience is designed to be welcoming, social, and just the right amount of competitive.
We will have four tables, two will be for beginners and will have instructors and the other two are for anyone,
Mahjong Madness will take place every Monday from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
When registering, guests will choose from one of two seat options:
🎴 Beginner Seat – Perfect for those who are new to Mahjong or need a refresher. Beginner guests will receive guided instruction throughout the session and learn the fundamentals of the game in a relaxed and supportive setting.
🀄 Player Seat – For those who already know how to play and are ready…

Already know how to play Mahjong? Join us at the table. The Player Ticket is for guests who are familiar with the game and ready to jump right into open play. You’ll be seated with fellow players for a social and engaging experience filled with strategy and friendly competition. Whether you’re a regular player or just a little rusty, this is the perfect way to enjoy Mahjong in a lively and welcoming setting.

Beginner Ticket -Learn to Play
New to Mahjong or need a refresher? This ticket is for you. Guests who select the Beginner Ticket will receive guided instruction throughout the session, learning the fundamentals of Mahjong in a relaxed and welcoming environment. You’ll be taught how the game works, basic strategy, and how to confidently join a table. Instruction will be led by Karen Lischick and Smaro George, making this a fun and approachable way to learn something new. No experience needed—just come ready to play!
